The distillery has some of the largest stills on the island and uses them to produce both smokeless and smoked whisky. With an approximate smoke content of 38 ppm, the peated bottlings are considered to be rather mildly smoky. These are often found in the bottle typical of Bunnahabhain, which is very dark in color under Gaelic
